Season 2007/8

A Message from the Chairman

Last season Stirling and Midlands TTA bucked the national trend by increasing its League numbers to over a 100 players .This year however it is sad to report that the League entries have dropped by about 11%. This is due mainly to players moving on e.g uni, college or job commitments. Last year this was counteracted by a large amount of new blood at the bottom end of the league.

This year however with the exception of new members at The Bowhouse club, the number of new players has dried up.

An action plan has been put into place this season which will see Harry Crawford starting Saturday morning Primary School coaching sessions at the Grange in the near future with the long term plan being Junior League participation next season. You could help the league future as well, do you still see any former players ?ask them if they fancy a comeback.

Its not all doom and gloom however at the other end of the scale our Juniors continue to make strides. Roxanna Milne , Steven Fowler and Blair Fowler are now part of the National Junior Squad while both Michael Bamforth and Emma Notarangelo earned caps last season. At the Inter League we won two events and were runner up in another two, A mention here to Gerry and Stewart here for their hard work with some of these players.

To Finish on a sad note our main sponsor AA Components who have supported us for many years have decided to end their association with the league this season .I would like to thank the Ainslie family on behalf of the league for their backing over the years ,and wish their business every success for the future.

The League is now on the lookout for a new sponsor if you know of anyone who would be interested please contact myself or Willie Ballantine.

Good Luck for the new season

Armando Notarangelo
